Banteay Samre Temple overview

Banteay Samre Temple is located in Cambodia’s Angkor Temple Complex and was built by King Suryavarman II in the mid-nineteenth century.

The temple is dedicated to Vishnu of India and was built in the same style as Angkor Wat Temple. This is one of the temples in the Angkor Temple Complex that has been completely restored using the anastylosis method. Almost all of the valuable items in this temple, however, were stolen.
