Ta Keo Temple overview

Ta Keo is a temple that has yet to be completed due to the death of King Jayavarman V, is located in Angkor Temple Complex, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The large rocks of this temple have been sorted, but the carving workers have not returned, so this temple now has a unique image with natural and solid beauty, which is simple throughout the temple.

The temple is located east of the Angkor Thom Temple Complex and was built to worship Shiva.

Highlights of Ta Keo Temple

Ta Keo Temple is a rock temple that is a little dangerous because of its height, it is upright, and it lacks any adhesive matter, giving tourists the impression that the temple could collapse at any time.

It takes about an hour to explore and visit the entire Ta Keo Temple, this is a relic that demonstrates the skillfulness of Khmer architects in building a large waste project.

The deserted landscape and the lack of a genie to worship in Ta Keo Temple, as well as the fact that it had not yet finished construction in the past, made Ta Keo Temple Cambodia the most unfortunate temple in the Angkor Temple Complex

Ta Keo has a square plan with five towers arranged like dots on a die and stands majestically on a three-tiered terrace 12 meters (39 feet) high. It is a representation of Mount Meru. The base is exquisitely molded. The temple is divided into two enclosures (1 and 2), each with its own entry tower.

Inscriptions can be found on the pilasters of the east entry tower. The first two tiers of the platform serve as the foundation for two courtyards. One is surrounded by a wall, while the other is surrounded by a gallery that is too narrow to allow walking.
