Bayon Temple, also known as “Temple of Beaming Faces”, is a well-known and richly decorated Khmer temple in the Angkor complex. Standing in the exact centre of Angkor Thom.

Bayon is most famous for its huge stone faces. Over 2000 large faces carved on the 54 towers give this temple its majestic character.

The Bayon's most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.

Since the time of Jayavarman VII, the Bayon Temple has undergone numerous additions and alterations at the hands of subsequent monarchs.
