Sihanoukville Beach overview
Sihanoukville Beach is approximately 4 hours by bus from Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. This is Cambodia’s historic seaport.
This is a province in southwest Cambodia noted for its beaches, tropical islands, and Ream National Park’s mangrove jungles. Sihanoukville, the provincial capital, is built around a deep-water port on a peninsula extending into the Gulf of Thailand. It boasts palm-fringed beaches, seafood restaurants, and late-night bars.
The most popular and convenient way to travel around the beautiful different beaches in Sihanoukville is by tuk-tuk. Sihanoukville provides many options for different beaches to suit the various entertainment methods of each tourist.
Tourists who want to completely relax should go to Sokha, Sihanoukville’s most beautiful beach. Tourists who prefer animation should go to Occheuteal or Serendipity, where there are many guesthouses, bars, restaurants, and shops open from early morning until late at night. There are a lot of tourists and different underwater activities here at night.
When visiting Sihanoukville, don’t forget to try the seafood, it’s very fresh, delicious, unique, and inexpensive.

Koh Rong is also a beautiful island that is about 2-2.5 hours by bus from Sihanoukville. This island is ideal for honeymoon couples.
How to travel to Sihanoukville Beach?
There are three options for getting from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville: bus, train, or car.
The bus/car ride between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville takes around 4 hours and covers a distance of about 228 kilometers.
The train ride takes about 6 hours.
Every 3 hours, Virak Buntham operates a bus from Phnom Penh Virak Buntham Express to Sihanoukville Virak Buntham Express. The trek takes 3h 30m and costs $14-$16. This route is also served by five other operators. Alternatively, Royal Railway Cambodia runs a train every day from Phnom Penh Station to Sihanoukville Station. The travel takes 6 hours and tickets range from $5 to $10.
