Angkor Thom Temple is the Khmer Empire’s longest and final capital city. Jayavarman VII built this famous site at the end of the VII century.

This special citadel is 9km2 in size and contains many other citadels. This citadel also contains many citadels that were built during previous periods.

The citadel of Jayavarman is known as Bayon Temple and is located in the right center of Angkor Thom. Angkor Thom was built as Jayavarman VII’s kingdom capital and was based on the Bayon style.

This place’s construction materials were made of laterite, which could be seen very clearly on the people’s faces and towers here, which are very big, impressive, special, and beautiful.

Angkor Thom is located on the Tonle Sap Lake’s shore. The south gate of this temple, which is very famous for its two lines of stone snakes, is only 7.2 kilometers away from Siem Reap City, making it very easy, fast, and convenient for tourists to explore Angkor Thom by bus, motorbike, or even bike from the center of Siem Reap.
