Vimanmek Museum overview
Vimanmek Museum has always been the Vimanmek Royal Palace of Thailand. This is the largest and only palace in the world made entirely of teak wood.
This palace, which was erected by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1901 and is situated in Bangkok’s metropolitan region, was regarded as the King’s retreat in the countryside. The King resided here from 1902 until 1906, a period of five years. Following then, this palace was converted into a store. Vimanmek Palace underwent restoration and was converted into a museum in 1982.

The Vimanmek Museum is situated inside the Dusit Royal Complex, and the path leading from the parking area to the palace is lined with numerous tall, lush trees. Tourists traveling in groups will be allowed entry to the Vimanmek Museum first, individuals or small private groups should wait until a group of roughly 20 people has formed before being allowed entry.
To enter the Vimanmek Museum, visitors must leave everything outside of the building, including their phones, cameras, and other items. They are also required to wear long addresses. The visitor to the Vimanmek Museum will observe a living representation of past Thailand Royalty in around 35 minutes.
