This palace, which was erected by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1901 and is situated in Bangkok’s metropolitan region, was regarded as the King’s retreat in the countryside. The King resided here from 1902 until 1906, a period of five years. Following then, this palace was converted into a store. Vimanmek Palace underwent restoration and was converted into a museum in 1982.
