We eat lunch at a local restaurant near the Angkor Temple Complex before heading to the most famous of all the temples on the Angkor Plain: Angkor Wat. The temple complex is 81 hectares in size, comparable to Beijing’s Imperial Palace. Its distinctive five towers are depicted on the Cambodian flag, and art historians regard the 12th-century masterpiece as the pinnacle of classical Khmer art and architecture.
