Lunch is not included. In the afternoon, visit the most famous of all the temples on the Angkor plain: Angkor Wat. The temple complex is 81 hectares in size, comparable to Beijing’s Imperial Palace. Its distinctive five towers are depicted on the Cambodian flag, and art historians regard the 12th-century masterpiece as the pinnacle of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Complex Tour

Private A/C transportation · Tour guide · Breakfast · All entrance fees · Hotel in Siem Reap

Highlights:

Banteay Srei temple Banteay Samre Neak Pean  Ta Som Preah Khan Temple

Activities:

Breakfast at the hotel in the morning, followed by a visit to the Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the crown jewel of classical Khmer art. Then continue on to Banteay Samre, which was built in the third quarter of the 12th century. It consists of a central temple with four wings preceded by a hall and flanked by two libraries, the southern example being exceptionally well preserved. Today we also have time to visit Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool (representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake), Ta Som was constructed in the late 12th century C.E. The temple is the furthest away on the grand circuit, a small but classic. Preah Khan temple, built by King Jayavarman VII, is a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors, similar to Ta Prohm. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan’s temple is in reasonable condition, and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation.
