Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the crown jewel of classical Khmer art. Then continue to Banteay Samre, which was built in the third quarter of the 12th century, it consists of a central temple with four wings preceded by a hall and flanked by two libraries, the southern example being exceptionally well preserved.
Then, we visit Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool (representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain lake), Ta Som was constructed in the late 12th century C.E, which is the furthest away on the grand circuit, a small but classic, Preah Khan temple, built by King Jayavarman VII, is a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors, similar to Ta Prohm, unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan’s temple is in reasonable condition, and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation.
