How travel Sapa?

You can travel to Sapa by bus or by a night train from Hanoi, if you do not want to sit on a bus for a long time around 6 hours, then you should take a night train from Hanoi Railway Station to Lao Cai Railway Station, then catch a local bus (a taxi or a private car) from here to move to Sapa town. It is around 35km from Lao Cai Railway Station to the center of Sapa town. If you take by bus from Hanoi, then you transfer directly from Hanoi to Sapa town (not necessary from Lao Cai Railway Station to Sapa town).

From Sapa town, it is easy for you to trek to the ethnic villages where almost tourist prefers to explore such as Cat Cat village, Y Linh Ho village, Lao Chai village, Ta Van village, Giang Ta Chai village, Ban Ho village…..Depending on your time (period) stay in Sapa, it is flexible for you to trek to these villages as well as take part in the tourist activities in Sapa. Normally, if you want to experience full enough the most interesting sightseeing and activities in this mountainous areas, then you should stay one night at a hotel in the center of Sapa town, and stay at homestay with the local family in the ethnic villages.

While you are staying in the center of Sapa town, you should not miss to climing to Ham Rong mountain where you will have very good and mighty mountainous sites, from here even you are also possible to see Fansipan Mountain in the nice day as well as you will have very beautiful photos, you will have a chance to contemplate a lot of the different kinds of flowers on this mountain, especially everyday there are some dance shows of the ethics to be performed free of charge at here, from Ham Rong Mountain you can climb to a very high place in this mountain is Cong Troi (sky gate) where you can see almost Sapa town from here.

There are many beautiful ethnic villages in Sapa, but if you have just around 2-4 days in this region, then you should not miss to trek and discover the follow villages: Lao Chai and Ta Van village where you are seen directly their daily activities on the roads you trek such as transplant and harvest, breed, till the fields on the mountain slopes….if you really want to find out the daily activities of the locals at here, then you should stay one night with the locals in Ta Van village to experience these, stay overnight in this village you also have a chance to try the local dishes which are prepared and cooked directly by the locals at here. Stay with the local family in the ethnic villages you also do not worry about the living conditions at here because it is also very clean and safe for you, it is also available for electric.

From Lao Chai and Ta Van village, Giang Ta Chai village is considered more originally because there are little locals and houses to live in this village than Lao Chai and Ta Van village, if you want to experience a real life of the ethics in Sapa, then you should stay in this village or Ban Ho village where is far from Giang Ta Chai village by some hours trekking. Giang Ta Chai and Ban Ho village are very nice and at here it is available the very beautiful streams and waterfalls so that you can swim anytime you want.

Thit Heo Cap Nack (pork)

There are many kinds to cook but even how to cook it, then it is also very delicious because this kind of pork is cooked from the small pigs which are bred free on the fields, hill, mountains or in the valleys (no pigsty) so that its meat is very special and good.

Thang Co

This is a very special dish because it was exited since a long time ago (hundreds of years ago) of H’Mong, it is cooked from horse meat, horse’s viscera and bone. No everyone can eat this kind of dish because sometimes its smell is also very special.

This kind of dish is put and cooked inside a small bamboo culinder, it is very very plastic.

Ruou Tao Meo (whiskey of H’Mong)

This kind of wine from the white wine is steeped with Tao Meo (one kind of fruits, it is very sour and acrid). Although Tao Meo is very difficult to eat (fresh) but after to be steeped in the white wine it is a very very special wine, it is tested by little sweet and sour…and it is also very good for your health to drink it (it is easy for you to sleep after drinking this kind of wine).
