Buon Me Thuot overview
Buon Me Thuot is a city in Dac Lak Province. It is also known as Buon Ma Thuot or Ban Me Thuot. It is also the capital of Vietnam’s highlands.
Attractions in Buon Me Thuot
1. Don Village, around 40 kilometers from the center of Buon Me Thuot City, is the center of elephant hunting and taming. When you arrive in Don Village, you should embark on excursions such as riding an elephant or rowing a small wooden boat along the Serepok River; this is a fun and educational experience.
You will also have the opportunity to meet the ethnic people who reside in Don Village, they can speak Vietnamese as well as their own language. The villagers are always happy to show you around and allow you to join in their daily chores such as breeding bigs and chickens, planting trees, and so on.
2. The waterfalls complex Dray Sap, Dray Nur, Gia Long.
3. The village of Ako Dhong is also known as “the village in the city” due to its location on Tran Nhat Duat Street in Buon Ma Thuot City. Ako Dhong hamlet is made up of many diverse and very long houses, as well as the villagers’ special traditional gongs celebrations. All of these dwellings are based on the traditional architecture of the ethnic groups who live in the highlands of Vietnam.

Food specialties in Buon Me Thuot?

You can also fly to Buon Me Thuat from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, which is the quickest and most convenient method to get here.
You can also take a bus from Saigon to Buon Me Thuot, but because this route is quite lengthy, it is impossible to catch a bus on a long trip like this, therefore the best option to get to this famous and highland destination is still to take a short flight.
