Fansipan Mountain overview

Fansipan Mountain is the highest peak in Vietnam, as well as the highest peak in three Indochina countries, and is known as “the roof of Indochina” due to its 3143m elevation. The mountain is located approximately 9 kilometers south of Sapa town and is part of the Hoang Lien Son Range.

Fansipan Mountain is located in the northwestern Vietnam of Lao Cai and Lai Chau. This is the meeting place for many mountaineers, with a length of 280km from Phong Tho to Hoa Binh, a width of the mountain’s foot of around 75km, and a narrow 45km. There is a lot of strangeness on this roof, but the most strange and most mysterious thing is the Fansipan top.

The best time to climb this mountain is between the winter and autumn seasons when tourists will see a lot of yellow terraced rice fields along the way, and especially when the weather is nice for mountaineers to win ” the roof of Indochina”.

There are some fundamental principles to follow before climbing the mountain, including before climbing Fansipan Mountain and walking for at least ten minutes every day. Bring a thin but warm jacket, a hat, a tidy raincoat to cover your entire body, a camera, a tidy mobile phone, binoculars, a torch, easy food, some medicines, a first-aid kit, and mountainous climbing gloves. Always arrive on time and follow the directions of the tour guide.

Climbing and exploring Fansipan Mountain is a very interesting and worthwhile experience for adventurers and tourists who prefer to climb the mountain, it is not to be missed on your trip to Sapa, Vietnam.

How to travel to Fansipan Mountain?

Normally, tourists begin the trek to this mountain from Sapa town, and if you take a trekking trip to Fansipan Mountain, you can book a tour that includes porters, tour guides, and other people who will trek with you on the trip, however, you should not trek to this highest mountain alone because it is dangerous to travel alone over such a long and difficult distance, especially during the rainy season.
