Ban Ho Village Sapa overview
Ban Ho Village is located approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Sapa town. The village is home to five ethnic groups, including the H’Mong, Dao, Tay, Giay, and Nung (the most is the Tay ethnic group).
Ban Ho Village has a magnificent natural landscape, with numerous waterfalls and streams, the most famous of which is the Lavie stream, a very beautiful and neglected stream. Aside from natural heritages, this village is rich in special cultural heritages. Ban Ho Village is now one of the most famous destinations in Sapa, and foreign tourists enjoy trekking to this village.
Visitors to Ban Ho Village are greeted by yellow rice fields on terraced fields, hills, long streams, and simple houses of ethnic locals. Den hamlet is the heart of Ban Ho Village, where two famous streams, Muong Hoa and Lavie Stream, meet.
Aside from these two well-known streams, Ban Ho Village has several other waterfalls and streams, such as Ca Nhay, Seo Trung Ho, Silver Waterfall, and Love Waterfall…all of which are popular destinations for adventurers and couples looking to explore the wild nature of an ethnic village.
Tourists will trek through bendy hills and mountains to reach Ban Ho Village. The trek is a little difficult for tourists, but if you want to explore neglected nature and ethnic groups’ daily lives, this is the trip for you.
However, to understand the daily lives of the minorities in this area, you should spend one night in Ban Ho Village with a local family. This way, you can observe the locals’ daily activities and try to eat their traditional foods, which are prepared and cooked directly by the locals at this location. Ban Ho Village is about 30 kilometers from the center of Sapa town, to get there, take a bus or taxi from the town’s center to the village’s gate to begin the trek into the village, or visitors can take a two-day tour to explore some other villages before trekking to Ban Ho Village, staying overnight with the locals in their homestay one night to experience the local activities and enjoy the local food with your honests here.
