Tu Duc Tomb is one of the most beautiful and unique architectural tombs of the Nguyen dynasty, it is surrounded by a valley and pine hills, and is 475h wide. This is unquestionably one of Hue’s most beautiful tombs.

Tu Tuc Tomb’s history and architecture

Tu Duc was the fourth King of the Nguyen dynasty, reigning from 1847 to 1883. He was the king who had the most profound Oriental learning, the best of Confucianism, among the 13 Kings of the Nguyen dynasty.

He was very knowledgeable about history, philosophy, and literature, and he adored poetry. Tu Duc King’s rest in peace is very fitting with his habit and expectation, as the blue pine hills and small rivers, and lakes surround the tomb.

This complex was constructed using high-quality brick and stone. Aside from the purpose of allowing the king to rest in peace after his death, it is also a place for the king to relax, read, chant poems, etc., making the landscape of this tomb resemble a large park.

Tu Tuc Tomb is located in the Thuy Xuan District of Hue City, approximately 8 kilometers from Hue center. You can take a bus, taxi, cyclo, or even ride a bike from Hue center to this tomb, the roads to reach this unique destination are also very easy and beautiful.
