How to travel to the DMZ?

The DMZ is located in Quang Tri Province, approximately 85 kilometers from Hue City, and takes about 1.5 hours to reach. The most direct route for tourists to and from this historical monument is either Quang Tri Province or Hue City.

The visitor might take one day to see the DMZ, the day trip could be begun from Quang Tri or Hue, this is one of the most famous historical sites in Vietnam, it is easy for tourists to catch a bus, rent a private automobile coming here, or even ride a motorbike from Quang Tri center.

Travelling to Quang Tri, you will have the opportunity to visit other famous sites such as the Quang Tri ancient citadel, Hien Luong Bridge, Thach Han River, Ben Hai River, Vinh Moc Tunnels, Ta Con airport, Vay Village, Truong Son cemetery, Ho Chi Minh trail, Con Co Island….all of which have been preserved almost exactly as they were in the past, and have become a “travel brand name” of Quang Tri.

Especially, Vinh Moc Tunnels are a well-known destination in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. This site attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists each year, including many groups of Vietnamese and American veterans who come to visit their old battlefield.

In addition to the Vinh Moc Tunnels, the Hien Luong Bridge is a must-see location while visiting Quang Tri or the central region of Vietnam. This historical site marked the division of the country into two parts: North and South. This location is a stark reminder of a particularly difficult moment in the Vietnam War, when families were forced to separate their relatives, children had to separate from their parents, and grandparents had to separate from their descendants. Hien Luong Bridge is still well-preserved now, so you can learn more about it if you visit this location.

Cua Tung Beach, located near the DMZ, has also historically been regarded as the “Queen of Beaches” by the French.
