Hang Kenh Communal House overview
Hang Kenh Communal House is located in Hai Phong City’s Le Chan District at No. 55 Nguyen Cong Tru Street. Hang Kenh Communal House is one of the oldest Communal Houses in Hai Phong City.
According to the history and numerous research documents on Hang Kenh Communal House, construction on this ancient communal house began in the early 18th century under Le Du Tong King. After thousands of years, Tu Duc King restored and rebuilt this communal house for the first time in 1851.
Hang Kenh Communal House’s architectural art
It has significant carving value, particularly because it contains up to four hundred dragon statues, each with its own beauty and mystery.
When you arrive at this site, you will be able to see and participate in many of the different activities of the locals here on the important dates and festivals that are organized in this communal house, this is very different from other activities and festivals that are organized in pagodas or temples, almost all of the locals who live and work in this area come to participate in the festivals, bringing a variety of offerings to pray such as the fruits, candy…..after praying these offerings, the locals can leave or bring a part or all their offerings to home.
