Tra Que Vegetable Village overview

Tra Que Vegetable Village Hoi An locates in the Cam Ha Community of Quang Nam Province, it is only about 2 kilometers from the center of Hoi An, and this is also one of the largest vegetable villages where vegetables are grown entirely organically.

Why visit Tra Que Vegetable Village?

The village is well-known for its over twenty varieties of vegetables grown on fat lands and manured by a variety of alga in the rivers. The vegetables here have a very distinct flavor, lending a distinct character to the dishes of Hoi An.

The village was founded over 300 years ago and is surrounded by the De Vong River and Tra Que lagoon.

The first locals knew the natural conditions well enough to establish a rich vegetable village by algae. All of the vegetables grown here do not require artificial fertilizer because they are planted and grown on natural lands with algae, giving Tra Que Village a distinct personality.

The village currently covers nearly 20ha and houses approximately 200 families.

Some families in the village not only grow vegetables but also provide a homestay travel option for domestic and foreign tourists to participate in the vegetable-growing process.

If you do not prefer to go out and try to plant vegetables, you can still enjoy Hoi An’s local cuisine at some restaurants in Tra Que Vegetable Village.

How to travel to Tra Que Vegetable Village?

The village is only about 2 kilometers from the old town of Hoi An. You can also take a taxi or ride a bike from the town to this village to take sightseeing as well as participate in the various fun activities here such as working as a real farmer with the locals, enjoying a cooking class, learning how to cook the vegetables….all of these activities are sure to be very fun and worthwhile for you once you visit Tra Que Vegetable Village.
