Tan Ky House is located at 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An town. It was built over 20 years ago and it is considered as the most beautiful and ancient house in Hoi An. All furniture in Tan Ky House is still kept very carefully, the house has a historical and cultural meaning of Vietnam, so the tourist could not miss this destination on the trip to the old town of Hoi An, Vietnam.

Tan Ky House has the typical tubular architecture of the old town of Hoi An. The furniture are divided many compartments, and each compartment has the different functions, all of compartment in Tan Ky House does not have any window but not like as the other tubular houses of the new towns in new cities in Vietnam nowadays, the old town in Hoi An do not have the hard and stuffing feeling by the clear of the front and back face as well as the well.

The front face in Tan Ky House is the place for business, the back face is connected with the river bank and this area is used to take and get the goods for business. The materials are decorated in Tan Ky House almost by the valuable wood, it is carved very skillful with the dragon and fruit images…it shows the comfortable life of the owner generations of this ancient house so far. There were seven generations to live in Tan Ky House, and according to the owner of this house is this is one of the most ancient and beautiful house which is still stored intact in Vietnam nowadays.

Beside the wooden materials in Tan Ky House, the brick and stone are also decorated in the floor, walls….they are brought from the most famous places such as Bat Trang village, Thanh Hoa province, Non Nuoc village….so that after a lot of the large floods but it is still kept completely the floor as originally and it looks like as there was not any flood or the bad events were appeared at here. In 1985, Tan Ky House is accepted as a National historical and cultural relic as well as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
