This 24-day trip starts in Vietnam’s Hanoi and finishes in Myanmar’s Yangon, including all major sightseeing throughout Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, ensuring to provide you with an authentic Southeast Asia experience.

 

Trip Summary

The trip includes all highlights of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, a two-day leisure cruise ship on the famous Halong Bay, followed by a flight to Hoian to visit the historical The Old Town of Hoi An and relax on the beautiful sandy beach, the next exploration of colonial Saigon, the largest city and locates in southern Vietnam, take a boat ride to discover the Mekong River Delta. Then fly to Siem Reap for two days to explore the splendor of Angkor Wat and Tonle Lake’s floating village. In Laos, you will have a one-day city tour in Vientiane before moving on to Luang Prabang and swimming in the crystal-clear waters at the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfalls. The following two days are for your Mekong River cruise from Laos to Thailand. Following that, you will explore the enigmatic golden triangle areas and visit the Long Neck Karen village in northern Thailand. Finally, end your journey in Yangon, Myanmar’s garden city and main gateway, to see the magnificent pagodas.

Upon your arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, look for a greeting board with your name, and our tour guide will escort and transfer you to your hotel in the city center. Today, if time permits, you will have a welcome meeting with the salesperson who contacted you directly via email to go over any questions or changes to your itinerary…and IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS, PLEASE ASK HIM/HER THAT DAY…, followed by dinner at a traditional local restaurant in the heart of Hanoi. Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Discover the Capital City of Vietnam.

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, has oriental-style old buildings, luxuriant trees along streets, local markets, motorbikes, etc, A city tour in Hanoi will give you the first impression of oriental. In the city tour, you will visit the Hochiminh Mausoleum and his former, the One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology or Vietnam History Museum, Hoan Kiem Lake, and a Cyclo tour to the old quarter of Hanoi. Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Cruise & Overnight on a 5-star cruise ship

Day 4: Halong Bay Cruise – Fly to Danang/Hoi An

Greeting by the morning sunrise from the sea horizon, you can join a Thai Chi lesson for some morning exercise before breakfast. Visit a limestone grotto in the morning and disembark around 11:00 am then transfer to the airport for the onward flight to Danang. Upon arriving in Danang, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel in Hoian (about 30 minutes drive). Check-in hotel and overnight in Hoian.

Day 5: My Son Heritage – The Old Town of Hoi An Walking Tour

Visit the My SON Holy Land in the morning to discover the ruined temple which was built in the 4th century. When driving back to Hoian, visit the historical Hoian Ancient Town including the colorful local market, the Tan Ky Old House, Fukien Assembly Hall, and the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. You can also visit the local residents raising silkworms and producing silk for Hoi An’s burgeoning textile industry. In the evening, the local people will hang up the red lanterns, which will give you the feeling of traveling back to ancient times.

Day 6: Hoian – Relax on the Beach!

Day 7: Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) – Half-Day City Tour

Day 8: Saigon – Boat Trip in My Tho & Ben Tre of Mekong River Delta

Enjoy a full-day tour from Saigon to My Tho to discover the Mekong River Delta, which is famed as the ‘rice bowl of Vietnam. Transfer back to Saigon in the afternoon.

Day 9: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels & Cooking Class – Saigon

Day 10: Saigon – Fly to Siem Reap – Angkor Wat Tour

Angkor Wat—Impressed by the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat. Enjoy free time until transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will be welcomed by our local guide at the airport and then escorts to the hotel. After check-in and a short rest, your private guide will escort you to discover the world’s wonder site—Angkor Wat, the magnificent temple was built in the 12thcentury and it is the largest first Hindu, and Buddhist temple complex and the largest religious monument in the world. Day 11: Full Day Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm Temple

After breakfast, the cool weather and less traffic are perfect for you to travel in a Tuk Tuk to visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom which was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. The tour in Angkor Thom will start from the South Gate and walk along the ancient city wall to see the lost temple of Prasat Chroung, then continue to the Bayon temple where you will be surrounded by 216 gigantic stone faces which fame for the “smile of Angkor”.  You will also visit the Terrace of the Elephants, the Royal Palace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. When the weather gets hot, your driver will pick you up and you can enjoy air-conditioning and cold drinks inside your private car while transferring you to the Temple of Ta Prohm which is wildly known as the “lost to the jungle temple”. Day 16: Kuang Si Waterfalls – Luang Prabang Half Day City Tour

Luang Prabang, the city surrounded by the Mekong River and well known for its golden city is well known for its beautiful decorated Buddhist temples, it is a place that you will keep appearing in your mind for a long time after your Indochina tour. Your memorable trip will start with partaking in an alms ritual in the morning, you will accept the blessing by monks who you give the alms. Have breakfast in the hotel and then start the half-day excursion to Kuang Si Waterfalls, where you will enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, have fun in the waterfalls and relax. Drive back to the town for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Wat Xiengthong which is a symbolic temple of classic Laotian architecture, and visit the Royal Palace Museum to learn some history of Laos. Day 17: Mekong River Crusie & Pak Ou Cave

Today, you will embark on the Luang Say boat for a 2 days cruise to Huay Xai, the small town locates at the border of Laos and Thailand, you will proceed to Chiang Rai in Thailand from the border pass there. The boat will start at 7:00 am, you will enjoy a continental breakfast while cruising to the Pak Ou Village which locates at the mouth of the Nam Ou River. You will have a shore excursion to visit the Tam Thing Caves of Thousand Buddhas. Lunch will be a buffet on board and the boat will keep cruising upstream the Mekong River to a hill tribe village where you can watch the traditional process of Lao whiskey production. Our boat will stop at Pak Beng around sunset and check in at Luang Say Lodge overnight. Dinner will be arranged on the Luang Say Lodge’s terrace restaurant with a view of the Mekong River.

Day 18: Mekong River Cruise – Chiang Rai

Enjoy breakfast at the Luang Say Lodge, then board the boat at 7:00 am and keep cruising toward the upper stream of the Mekong River. En route, you will stop to visit a local village to witness the rural life along the Mekong River and visit the Minority ethnic people. Lunch will be a buffet served on board, and you will arrive at Huay Xai around 5:00 pm. Go through the board and you will be welcomed by your local guide on the Thailand side of the border, who then escorts you to your hotel in Chiang Rai.

Day 19: Half-Day Chiang Rai City Tour

After breakfast and checking out from the hotel, we will drive to visit Opium House at the bent of the mighty Mekong River and see the scenery view of three countries (Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos).  Visit the ancient city of Chiang Saen, where ruins of numerous, temples, stupas, and Buddha images are still to be seen as artifacts, and archaeological finds are exhibited at the National Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant and transfer back to the hotel in Chiang Rai.

Day 20: Full Day Discover Golden Triangle

The golden triangle is a mysterious region for most of the Indochina tour makes, today you will enjoy a full-day excursion to the heart of the golden triangle region. Your fascinating day will start in the morning by first visiting the Long Neck Karen village to see the long neck hill tribe people who relocated from the Thai and Myanmar border. If it is possible, you will also be able to visit a Cock Fightingnear the hill tribe village. Keep driving to Mt. Doi Mae Salong and visit the Chinese village on the top of the mountain. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue the trip to the highest peak on the Thai-Myanmar border. Doi Tung provides an opportunity to view enrooted many different Lahu and Akha villages as well as terraced farming areas and see from distance the Princess Mother’s frigid flower Garden.  Doi Tung temple, built in A.D.1493, is located at the peak. Its scenery reminds one of Switzerland, and features many unique images and temple architecture overlooking the entire northern rice field plain.  Return to the hotel and rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 21: Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai – Visit Charity School

Before you arrive in Chiang Mai, you will stop to visit the White Temple which is a fascinating temple with amazing design and beautiful sculptures. Before you arrive in Chiang Mai, you will stop to visit a charity school—School For Life which was co-founded by Berlin Free University, it is a children’s village that offers free education, accommodation, and medical care to children with a difficult backgrounds. Day 23: Yangon City Tour

Rise early in the morning to visit the Shwedagon Pagoda which is the largest pagoda with painted real gold in Yangon. The benefit for visit the pagoda in the early morning you will enjoy a quiet and extremely peaceful atmosphere by watching local people and monks pray in front of the Pagoda. Transfer back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit the Reclining Buddha (Chaok-Htat-Gyi) andMahabandoola park. Have some rest after lunch, and in the afternoon, enjoy some free time wandering around in Bogyoke Market and the then  Bogyoke Market busy streets of Yangon’s famous China Town and Yangon Jetty.
