The DH Travel team will meet you at your hotel in Hanoi. Drive to Ha Giang, a province in Vietnam’s far north. Your path will take you through mountainous terrain and breathtaking scenery. When you arrive in Tuyen Quang, you’ll see the 15th-century Mac Dynasty Citadel and a nearby market. You will spend the night in a small town in Ha Giang after lunch at a local restaurant. You’ll arrive and check in on time, or you’ll explore the nearby peaceful villages.

Quan Ba ▸ Yen Minh ▸ Dong Van ▸ Ma Pi Leng Pass ▸ Nho Que River
After breakfast, you’ll travel to the small villages of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, and Dong Van, which are among the most picturesque in Vietnam’s northern tip. Following lunch, take a scenic route to the Ma Pi Leng Pass, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Nho Que River. You might catch one of the northeast’s spectacular sunsets. Finally, after a long day, you’ll arrive in the late afternoon at Meo Vac, where you’ll spend the night.

After breakfast and a brief visit to Meo Vac’s local market, you’ll take a different scenic route back to Yen Minh and then to Bac Me in Cao Bang Province. Lunch will be arranged for you at a local restaurant in Quan Ba Town. From there, you’ll return to Ha Giang and then to Bac Me, where you’ll arrive in the afternoon. You can go on a short visit to a nearby Tay ethnic minority group on the outskirts of town to see how the locals live. Return to Bac Me town and spend the night.

A morning drive will take you through three passes en route. The scenery is spectacular and the road runs along the sides of the mountains. You’ll have lunch in a small town and, in the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Cao Bang town to check in to a hotel.

After breakfast, you’ll visit the Ban Gioc Waterfall on the China-Vietnam border, 85km from Cao Bang, passing through attractive scenery en-route. Ban Gioc is one of the largest and possibly the most impressive waterfalls of Vietnam. After a picnic lunch, you’ll visit Nguom Ngao, one of the largest caves in the area. It has many fascinating shapes and formations of stalactites. From there, you’ll head back to Cao Bang with time to relax before dinner and your overnight stay.

You’ll return to Hanoi in the morning via a route that takes you through historic passes to Lang Son. It includes a stop en route to visit a local market in the city center and explore this border city. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Lang Son. After lunch, the drive back to Hanoi will take about two and a half hours.
