Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Putao arrival – Pick up & Tour

Upon arrival at Putao Airport, you will be met and transferred to your guest house in Putao. Putao is located in a flat valley and serves as a starting point for trekkers interested in exploring the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries, and snow-capped mountains, among other things. After a quick refreshment, we trek around Putao to get oriented.

Day 2: Putao – Namhtunkoo
Highlights with Photos: Putao Market, Namtunkoo Lisu Village, Lancrumadin Mountain
Early in the morning, take a 10-minute walk to Putao Market, an attractive market that is frequently crowded with local ethnic tribes. Return to the hotel for breakfast before departing for Namtunkoo Lisu village, located west of Putao on the crossroads to Mt. Lancrumadin (20 km, approx 5 hours). Walk through a cultivation field, past small villages and farmland. After about an hour of walking on flat land, you will be surrounded by lush tropical evergreen forests.
After about 3 hours of trekking uphill, you will reach the shoulder of the Namhtun mountain range, from which the path descends all the way. Lancrumadin Mountain, which stands at 11530 feet (3495 meters) and faces the Indian border, can be seen to the west. After lunch, continue trekking for another hour through the farmland to the village. Check-in at a designated home before heading to Namhtun Creek, which is usually busy in the late afternoon by locals returning home from the field. Namhtunkoo village house for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Namhtunkoo – Putao

Breakfast and a village tour for social and cultural interaction. Farewell to the locals and take a 45-minute walk through the field along Namhtun Creek, crossing it twice. When you enter the wilderness, the terrain immediately becomes steeper, leading up to 2295 feet (700 meters). The trek gradually descends through farmland after about 2 hours through a strenuous jungle trail in a dense forest filled with bamboo groves, from where we enjoy a spectacular view of the Putao plain with snake-like crawling Mula creek. Lunch break followed by a 2-hour easy trek to Mulashidi village. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings, which frequently include snow-capped mountains in the distance. Join your jeep return to Putao and check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Putao Lodge.

Day 4: Putao
Highlights with Photos: Machanbaw, Naungkhine Village, Malikha River
Breakfast and a Jeep excursion to Machanbaw (20 km, approx one hour). Machanbaw is a small ex-Putao administrative town with a beautiful colonial-style town. Arrive in Naungkhine village and walk across the Malikha River on a small suspension bridge to Machanbaw. The excursion in town includes a small market and a 20-minute walk up to the so-called Stone Dragon Park to view the snake-like rock formation. Return to the riverbank, cross the suspension bridge to the other side, and drive back to Putao. Lunch at the hotel, followed by a relaxing afternoon in Putao. Putao Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Yangon International Airport for your return international departure flight.
