Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, our driver will meet you with a greeting board bearing your name and transfer you to your centrally located hotel to check in before exploring the city’s oldest temples, including the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, with its roof sweeping low to the ground and representing classical Lao architecture, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun, and the shrine of Wat Aham. Then, we go to the Royal Palace Museum, which houses interesting artifacts from Luang Prabang’s Royal period.
Late afternoon: We climb Mount Phousi to explore the sacred gilded stupa and enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the sun setting over the Mekong River. As you descend the mountain, you will find yourself amid the famous Luang Prabang Night Market, where you can find an amazing selection of handmade textiles and handicrafts made by ethnic Lao and hill-tribe people from the surrounding area.
We’re having a welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Luang Prabang this evening. After returning to your hotel, you can explore the night market in Luang Prabang.

After breakfast at the hotel, we board our private boat for a scenic cruise up the Mekong River to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, these caves are an ancient pilgrimage site with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha images that have been left there for hundreds of years.
We disembark our boat in Luang Prabang and can take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a village famous for its hand weaving, or return to the hotel for free time to relax upon your request. The afternoon and evening are free for you to explore Luang Prabang on your own, park in the Night Market, or relax at your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart around for a stroll through the Talat Sao, or the morning market, which is full of local foodstuffs from the farms and jungles that surround Luang Prabang. It’s a short walk from here to the Royal Palace Museum, which houses a variety of interesting artifacts from the Royal period in Luang Prabang.
Today’s journey takes us into the mountainous regions of northern Laos, through breathtaking scenery and countless ethnic minority villages. We will stop for lunch at a mountain-top restaurant with breathtaking 360-degree mountain views. We will check into our hotel in Vang Vieng late in the afternoon and then take a relaxing boat ride along the Nam Song River, which runs between the town and the soaring limestone Kryst mountains.

After breakfast at the hotel, our tour guide will pick you up around and we will head out on bicycles to explore more of the limestone cliffs, caves, and valleys that surround the town. We’ll go to the Tham Jang cave, which the locals used as a refuge from Chinese invaders 200 years ago.
We’ll also go to Tai Deang and Souray hill tribe villages which are always friendly, greeting you with waving hands and smiles. From there, we’ll ride our bikes to the Organic Farm, where you can see the mulberry orchard, goat dairy, and mud bricks being made. Before returning to town, try some roasted goat cheese and mulberry wine. The rest time is free.

After your early breakfast, we will depart Vang Vieng for Vientiane, arriving around midday and having time to relax and freshen up. This afternoon’s city tour takes you to the major temples of Vientiane, including the oldest, Wat Sisaket, with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple that housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. We also visit That Luang Stupa, a Laotian national icon, and stop along the way to photograph the imposing Patuxay Monument, Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.
Your evening is free to enjoy a few drinks while watching the sunset over the Mekong River, explore the Night Market, and partake in some of the city’s nightlife. The trip concludes when you are transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination. Please note that this day can be changed to accommodate your flight time at the airport.
