Hai Duong’s food specialties
1. Ground Green Lentils (Banh Dau Xanh): This is one of Vietnam’s traditional cakes, but it is most renowned in the province, practically all tourists buy this cake as gifts for their families after visiting this city, its taste is very sweet.
If you travel to Halong Bay, you will pass through the streets of the province, where this cake is widely available, almost all bus drivers will stop their vehicles so that tourists can relax and purchase souvenirs along the way. Ground Green Lentils are simple to prepare and inexpensive to buy as a special gift after visiting the places.
2. Banh Khao: this type of cake first appeared in the early twentieth century, and it is now available in almost all supermarkets and small shops throughout Vietnam. Its flavor is similar to that of Banh Dau Xanh, and it is easy to find and buy it on the road from this province to Halong Bay.
3. Banh Gai: Another traditional Vietnamese cake, however, this one is unique and well-known in Hai Duong. It has a black color because one of its components is a pinnate leaf, which turns black when cooked.
4. Litchi: This fruit is grown in numerous locales and provinces throughout Vietnam, however, Hai Duong is one of the most popular harvesting locations. The litchi is extremely huge and succulent, as well as extremely sweet.
How to travel to Hai Duong?
It is about 60 kilometers by bus from Hanoi to Hai Duong, and the journey takes approximately one hour from the center of Hanoi. You can take a bus, a cab, or even a motorbike or bike from Hanoi to Hai Duong to see the entire province.
