Naming Cultural Heritages of Vietnam

Vietnam is the country owning many monuments, ancient heritages with extremely great architecture.

  1. My Son Relic

Quang Nam is not only famous for its ancient town of Hoi An, but also for My Son Sanctuary located in an enclosed valley with spectacular mountain terrain.

With over 70 temples architecture of Champa civilization, My Son Sanctuary contains historical, cultural, architectural, art values created in a long time of 9 centuries (from the fourth century to the thirteenth century) and rated on a par with the famous monuments in Southeast Asia such as Angkor, Pagan, Borobudur.

Although My Son relic has had a long history and was devastated by the war, the remainings still play a vitally important role in the cultural historical architectural heritage of the world.

With the outstanding value, on December 4th, 1999, in the city of Marr kick – Marocco republic, My Son ruins were enrolled in the list of world’s cultural heritage by UNESCO.

  1. Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province was twice recognized as a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO: the first time was in 7/2003 at 27th Conference meeting in Paris (France) and the second time was in 7/2015 at the 39th Conference meeting in Bonn (Federal Republic of Germany).

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is like a giant geological museum which has global values and significance with complex geological structure. For over 400 million years of development with multiple changing phases created the rolling mountains, sedimentary basins, majestic scenery which make visitors must see to believe.

  1. Thang Long Citadel relic

The central relic of Thang Long Royal Citadel was recognized as a world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2010. These relics of 18,395 ha include the archaeological site at 18 Hoang Dieu and the relics remaining in the ruins of Hanoi Citadel.

Thang Long Citadel is associated with the history of Thang Long- Hanoi imperial city. This is one of the most important relics in Vietnam and was built by the kings. Exploring the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long relics, we will see the history of 13 centuries (from pre-Thang Long through the Dinh – Tien Le, developed under the Ly, Tran, Le reigns and became Hanoi in Nguyen dynasty) is reproduced in the cultural relics and stories.

  1. Ho Dynasty Citadel

Ho Dynasty Citadel (also known as An Ton, Tay Do, Tay Kinh, Tay Nhai, Tay Giai citadel) was the capital city of Vietnam from 1398 to 1407. In 2011, UNESCO recognized Ho Dynasty Citadel as the world’s cultural heritage.

Ho Dynasty Citadel was built in 1397 and completed 3 months later. Thanks to the unique construction techniques and sustainable materials, over more than six centuries, some sections of the citadel has been still relatively intact. It is also the only stone architecture left in Southeast Asia as well as one of the few ones in the world.

  1. Trang An scenic complex

Trang An scenic complex is located in Hoa Lu, Gia Vien, Nho Quan, Tam Diep districts, Ninh Binh City, approximately 90km from Hanoi capital to the southeast. It is recognized as a world natural heritage and world cultural heritage in 2014 by UNESCO.

Trang An is also the first and the only dual world’s heritage in Southeast Asia for its outstanding universal geological formations, archaeological and aesthetic values.

The archaeological evidence in Trang An landscapes complex is preserved almost intact, is as valuable material representing an important change in the environment lasted more than 30,000 years, at least since the last ice period, the history of human development, cultural monuments (temples, palaces) …

The unique beauty of landscapes Trang An population is the perfect combination between nature and culture. Here, tourists can visit the historic cultural capital of Hoa Lu, Trang An- Tam Coc- Bich Dong scenic area, and special use primeval forest of Hoa Lu.
