This 9-day tour will take you from the magnificent jungle-tangled temples of Angkor, a UNESCO-listed site to the amazing local pagodas and markets in Luang Prabang, another UNESCO-listed site, immersing you in Southeast Asia’s cultural treasures and natural splendors.
After arriving in SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA we take two days exploring the magnificent temples of ANGKOR WAT, a UNESCO-listed site, and Angkor Thom, working your way from the small to the large circuit. The next day, take a boat to the floating villages in Tonle Sap Lake to see how people adapt to life in this ecosystem. Fly to VIENTIANE, LAOS to take two days exploring the city. Then go to LUANG PRABANG, a UNESCO-list site in Laos to spend a day at Kuang Si Waterfalls soaking in the beauty and swimming in the crystal-clear waters, and take a boat trip to the Pak Ou Caves to view thousands of Buddha in this capital’s oldest temple.

Day 1: Siem Reap, Cambodia arrival – Angkor Wat & Angkor Complex Tour

Angkor Wat – Impressed by the magnificent Angkor Wat temple. Your unforgettable Indochina tour to Cambodia and Laos will begin with a visit to the glorious world heritage temples in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will be greeted at the airport by your local private guide from DH Travel, who will accompany you to your hotel.
Following a brief rest, your private guide will lead you to the world’s wonder site—Angkor Wat. The magnificent temple was built in the 12th century and is the world’s largest first Hindu, and Buddhist temple complex and religious monument. Enjoy the sunset from the top of Pre Rup’s pyramid-shaped temple on your way back to Siem Reap. This evening, we will enjoy a welcome dinner with a traditional Apsara dance show at the local restaurant in Siem Reap town.

Day 2: Angkor Complex Tour

After breakfast, the cool weather and less traffic are perfect for traveling in a Tuk Tuk to visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. The tour in Angkor Thom will start from the South Gate and walk along the ancient city wall to see the lost temple of Prasat Chroung, then continue to the Bayon temple where you will be surrounded by 216 gigantic stone faces which fame for the “smile of Angkor”.
You will also visit the Terrace of the Elephants, the Royal Palace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. When the weather gets hot, your driver will pick you up and you can enjoy air-conditioning and cold drinks inside your private car while transferring you to the Temple of Ta Prohm which is wildly known as “lost to the jungle temple”. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Tonle Sap Lake Boat Trip

In the morning, visit a half-day excursion to the biggest Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake—Tonle Sap Lake. You will firstly enjoy a fun ox cart ride through the countryside, continue to have a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful lake view and mangrove forest on the lake, then spend the rest of the morning at the largest village on the lake which is called Kompong Phluk, to discover the fascinating daily lives of the local people who leave on the water. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax.

Day 4: Siem Reap – Fly to Vientiane, Laos

Enjoy the morning at leisure before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. When you arrive at Vientiane airport, transfer you to your hotel in Vientiane City. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing by taking a relaxing walk around the hotel to discover the city or strolling along the river bank to enjoy the sunset.

Day 5: Vientiane City Tour

Vientiane, Laos’ charming capital city with a rich Buddhist cultural heritage, awaits your discovery. The highlights of Vientiane will be visited during your full-day city tour to learn more about Laos’ history by visiting the National Museum, Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple with thousands of Buddhist images, the temple Wat Prakeo, which houses the famous Emerald Buddha image, the symbolic That Luang Stupa and the Patuxay Monument. The rest of the day is free.

Day 6: Vientiane – Fly to Luang Prabang

Today you will continue your incredible tour in Laos by traveling from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Enjoy some downtime in the morning before being transferred to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. When you arrive in Luang Prabang, transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. In the evening, you can explore the city and the night market to learn about local life in Luang Prabang.

Day 7: Kuang Si Waterfalls & Luang Prabang City Tour

Luang Prabang, the city surrounded by the Mekong River and well known for its golden city, is well known for its beautifully decorated Buddhist temples; it is a place that will stay with you long after your Indochina tour. Your memorable trip will begin with an alms ritual in the morning, where you will accept the blessing of the monks to whom you will give alms.
After breakfast, begin the half-day excursion to Kuang Si Waterfalls, where you will enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, have fun in the waterfalls, and relax. Return to the town for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Wat Xiengthong, a symbolic temple of classic Laotian architecture, and the Royal Palace Museum to learn about Laos’ history.
Then go to the Wat Aham Temple, which means “Monastery of the Opened Heart,” and the Wat Visoun Stupa. Rest of the day at your leisure relax and explore the city, you can enjoy some drinks in one of the cafés or stroll along the beautiful riverside.

Day 8: Pak Ou Cave – The Thousands Buddha Cave Tour

Today you will embark on a private boat for a 2 hours boat trip along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Cave. Along the boat trip, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Mekong River and see the daily life of local people in a riverside fishing village, visit the Pak Ou Cave which is located by the Mekong River and you will discover many gold-lacquered Buddha statues in the cave. After visiting, take the boat back to Luang Prabang and rest of the day at your leisure.
