In fact, during the resistance against French colonialism in Viet Bac, uncle Ho lived and worked in a bamboo stilt house for nine years with compatriots of various ethnic origins. As a result, even though uncle Ho returned to Hanoi peacefully, he still felt a strong attachment to his countrymen.
Uncle Ho chose for him a small house of electrician workers upon his return to Hanoi from Viet Bac in 1954, and he worked in this small house from 19/12/1954 to 5/1958 when uncle Ho requested that he build him a stilt house near a pond to live and work. Then, at Uncle Ho’s request, a stilt house with only two small rooms, each of which can only accommodate one person, was designed and built.
