Lao Cai is a border and upland province in northern Vietnam that is part of the midland and highland area. This mountain region has become a rich land in terms of cultural identity, historical history, and cultural heritage, with twenty-five nations inhabiting here.

How to travel to Lao Cai?

It is about 245 kilometers, about 5-6 hours from Hanoi to Lao Cai by bus on the highway.

You can also take a night train from Hanoi to Lao Cai, which departs around 10 p.m. from Hanoi railway station and arrives at Lao Cai railway station at about 6 a.m., after which you can catch a local bus or private driving from the railway station to Sapa town, which is considered the most famous destination in northern Vietnam (it is only about 35 kilometers from Lao Cai railway station to Sapa town).
