The Silver Pagoda is located on the south side of the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh. Formerly, it was known as Wat Ubosoth Ratanaram.

Phnom Penh City Tour Full Day will take you in some of Cambodia’s fine Khmer and French influences with visits in the morning to the Silver Pagoda and National Museum. After a tasty lunch we visit the Tuol Sleng Museum, a testament to Cambodia’s recent bloody past under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime.

08:00 pick up from the hotel. This morning you will start your tours firstly with victory Monument, and the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art – notably sculptures – throughout the ages. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. The treasures found inside include a solid gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90kilograms and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. Lunch at the restaurant This afternoon, visiting the Tuol Sleng Museum with its disturbing account of Pol Pot’s reign of terror and the notorious ‘Killing Fields’ of Choeung Ek. We also have time exploring one of the city’s most vibrant markets, Psar Toul Tom Pong, all called the “Russian Market“, which sells a wide array of local goods and handicrafts. An ideal way of spending your last evening in Cambodia is to relax on 1 hours cruise on the Mekong river. Return to the hotel.
